Support, donations, and foster parent applications
We at Open Sesame continue our activities to give light to the horses who have completed their service and to help them live out the rest of their lives in peace.
However, due to rising food costs, we are constantly forced into a tight financial situation. Please help us by registering as a supporter (volunteer), assisting (money donations and support in the form of supplies), and participating in the Mother Foster Parent Program (monthly donations).
Your support will help create a future for horses who live for people and have nowhere to go.
How to donate
Foster parent system
(Foster parents, Open Sesame Foster Parents Association)
Under the foster parent (mother) system, all of the horses living at Open Sesame become "sato horses" and all "foster parents" support these horses.
You will then watch over the growth of these horses as "spiritual family."
Once you become a foster parent, you do not have to remain a foster parent forever.
You can choose flexibly based on your life stage and financial situation.
What are foster parents (Open Sesame Foster Parents Association)?
You can support the horses with an amount that suits you, starting from 1,000 yen per month.
Donations can also be made in monthly or annual payments.
After your donation is accepted, please make the payment yourself from the month of your application. (Automatic transfer is also possible. Supporters will need to complete the procedure at their post office. You can also transfer up to five times free of charge from Yuucho Direct (online banking).)
*Currently, there are delays in sending out membership cards due to lack of time. Thank you for your patience.
(As a foster parent, you will pay a monthly membership fee and support the foster horses.)
■Membership fee:
1,000 yen per share per month (multiple shares allowed)
■Payment method:
Monthly or annual payment (please make payment by the end of the month or the year.
(Example) 2 shares 2,000 yen for monthly payment
Transfer 2,000 yen every month from the month of registration.
(Example) 2 shares 2,000 yen for annual payment
Transfer 24,000 yen once a year in the month you specify.
■Member benefits:
Foster parent association membership card issued, participation in various events organized by the foster parent association
*If you wish to stop being a foster parent for any reason, please let us know by email or phone. We will send you a confirmation email, and you can stop using that email.

Applying by mail
Please print out the Minamiaso Yoshoba Farm Open Sesame Foster Parent Application Form (0.09MB), fill in the necessary information, and send it to Minamiaso Yoshoba Farm Open Sesame, Shirakawa 1792-2, Minamiaso-mura, Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture, 869-1502.
Your application will be accepted when we receive it, and we will send you a membership card after it arrives. Please transfer the payment from the month of your application. After we receive it, we will send you a confirmation email to the email address you provided on the application form. (If you choose to pay annually, please specify the month of transfer.)
Applying by email
Please send your application to farmsanctuary.opensesame@gmail.com (Momose/Saito) with 1) your name, 2) your address, 3) your phone number, 4) your email address, 5) the number of foster parents and the amount (1,000 yen per unit), and 6) monthly or annual payment (please specify the month of transfer).
We will contact you shortly. Your application will be considered accepted when you receive the receipt email, so please make the transfer yourself from the month of your application. We will send you your membership card shortly.
